Living in Ethiopia has been an amazing journey of many ups & downs...but one of the 'ups' has been my exposure to the textile designs of countries across this wonderful continent ~ from Sierra Leone to Uganda.

I love the textiles that are being designed and created here in Africa ~ 

they are full of colour, texture and originality.

But most importantly, they tell the visual story of the culture of each country and its people, all while making women look beautiful!

I think it is time for the rest of the world to start taking even more notice of the amazing textiles and fashion designers based here in Africa. 

A Perfect Day...

To wake up naturally before the rest of the house...    

and spend a quiet hour on my yoga mat

   

before cuddling with my little people in the soft morning light

  followed by a big family breakfast, complete with a hot cup of Marsala Chai  (homemade by "The Chai Guy" - my husband)   Dressed to hit the road... Off to a local Artisan and food market...followed by the BEACH
where we spend a lazy afternoon diving in the cool waves and collecting little treasures with my little people no perfect day is complete without a massage on the beach!! a vegetarian feast ready to share with good friends and family   and live music jamming to the sounds of the ocean and children playing a fire is lit beneath the starry night sky, friends take their leave and our children start to nod off     and I am left alone with my favourite person to reflect...on a perfect day.     What is your idea of a perfect day?
